Faith and Work Enterprises
is an innovative, holistic job readiness program helping men gain transferable workforce skills and invaluable hands-on experience, which allows them to secure meaningful work and move forward in building healthy lives and communities.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
What We Do
Faith and Work Enterprises has an innovative job readiness training program using our tailor-designed curriculum to help men facing long-term unemployment, transitioning back into society from the corrections system, and/or experiencing homelessness, find jobs and experience life in Christ.
Through a 10-week program, men gain a greater sense of their purpose and calling, learn and practice healthy relational skills, develop a vocational plan, draft resumes, practice interviewing and complete job applications.
EVERY OCCUPATION HAS ITS OWN HONOR BEFORE GOD.
Ordinary work is a divine vocation or calling. In our daily work, no matter how important or mundane, we serve God by serving the neighbor and we also participate in God’s on-going providence for the human race.
- Martin Luther

We’re focused on the community surrounding Pennsylvania Avenue in West Baltimore
An area with notable history and culture, yet also with many of the struggles of inner-city life.
Shortly after the unrest in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood of Baltimore, MD, following the death of Freddie Gray in April 2015, a group of concerned pastors and laypeople gathered with a desire to meet actual needs identified by residents in the community. What resulted is Faith and Work Enterprises and Pennsylvania Avenue Chocolates.
God is good!
