2021 continues to be a very eventful year for Faith and Work Enterprises.

Like others throughout the country, renovations are taking longer than anticipated (see pictures below). Nonetheless, planning for the start of our workforce development process is in full swing and we have another community event planned for December.

Thanks to two generous grants (official announcements will be shared in separate emails soon), we are actively interviewing candidates for the position of chocolate production manager, for our first floor social enterprise chocolate-bar business, which will serve a vital role as part of the workforce development process.

Your donations this year will help meet the final costs of getting this process started, including helping with the remaining equipment that is needed and providing funds for the stipends for participants, until sales from bars can begin to offset this expense.

Our goal this year is to raise $24,000!

Additionally, we are also planning a Hip Hop Holiday event in conjunction with DTLR to celebrate the holidays and provide gifts for community children and youth.

In the meantime, our support to families in crisis continues, including just recently, again thanks to a generous supporter, helping three families avoid eviction this month.

Please keep the community in your prayers as the hardships of the colder months are suddenly here. The reality is that many are truly struggling: living in abandoned homes, trying to stay warm, hoping to provide something for loved ones at Christmas – and yet remaining as some of the most resilient and resourceful people we are honored to know.

Join us, with your support, in our walk together – and know how thankful we are for you!
