During the Covid-19 crisis Faith and Work Enterprises has been providing about 20 bags of food to different families and individuals each week. But don’t be fooled. This has been a true community effort.

Neighbors reach out to neighbors, recommending who might need this help the most.  Once bags are filled and transported according to the requests for the week, young men and women of the community often carry the food to the appropriate homes. Recipients have been known to share what they have received with another that might be in need.

It isn’t a Faith and Work effort.

It is a community effort that happens to be facilitated by Faith and Work and supported by the generosity of many – including people from area Lutheran churches and a grant from the Art Scherer Crisis Response Fund.

For almost 3 years now, Faith and Work Enterprises has had the privilege of walking together with the incredible people of Sandtown-Winchester, listening and learning and partnering in ways to work for a more stable community.

Weekly Updates
Each week, we plan to share with you fresh stories of how God is allowing us to participate with the community in what He is doing through the support that you and others like you are able to provide.

Thank you for your support, and, as such, for being part of the community!

Empty Shelves Do Not Mean Empty Kitchens

Neither lack of availability nor lack of funds stood in the way of people having one of life’s most basic necessities: food.

Thank you to all those who have helped in this effort!

Your Support Helps

Since 2017, led by our faith in God’s love for all people in Christ Jesus, Faith and Work Enterprises (a 501c3 corporation) has been in the Sandtown-Winchester community of West Baltimore on a mission of standing with the local neighborhood to build capacity for meaningful work and holistic well-being.  Presently, our focus has been standing with the local neighborhood as we work in and with the community toward greater stabilization in keys areas of crisis – including but not limited to providing and/or connecting people to services which help with food, health, and housing.  Our next phase is to attain property and begin a workforce development program to help individuals prepare for and attain meaningful employment.  Would you like to help us in this next phase?  Click here to donate today.
