Blessing the Community

We are thankful for our church partners who bless the people of Sandtown. Every person was so appreciative for these blessings! On Tuesday, one gentleman removed his hat, looked at LeChelle and Tina and asked “Can we pray?” We held hands and he led us in a beautiful prayer of thanks to our AMAZING God who supplies all our needs.

The Bridgebuilders group from the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew in Silver Spring MD provided beautiful Christmas drawstring bags filled with personal care items, the Busy Bees from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Parkville MD provided over 100 hand sewn blankets, and Orphan Grain Train provided winter coats for children and adults.
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Glen Arm, Maryland participated in Thrivent’s “Feed the Northeast” challenge and filled our emergency pantry. This food was a blessing to many people who are struggling with the impact of rising food prices and inadequate access to groceries in the Sandtown community.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Our year-end campaign continues and we are still working to meet our goal.
